Virginia Lee (Strang) Seitz

Virginia Lee Seitz of Nampa, passed away Monday, June 13th, 2016 at the age of 91.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 20th, at 2:00 p.m. at the Esther Simplot Performing Arts Academy, 516 S. 9th St., Boise, Idaho 83702. All attendees are invited to join the family for a reception held at the same location

She was born to Ora and Loma Strang on May 28th, 1925. The first of four sisters, she grew up in Garden Valley and Emmett. She graduated from Emmett High School in 1943 and later attended Linfield College in McMinnville Or.

Virginia married Donald Seitz in 1945. They were married in the First Baptist Church in Boise, where she attended and taught Sunday School for many years.  She later became a member of the Second Baptist church. In her last years she attended the New Hope Baptist Church in Nampa. They had two sons.

She was very active in the Boise Jaycettes, Tuesday Musical, Bible Study Fellowship and the Birthday Club.

Many of her favorite times were those spent with family and friends at their cabin in Cascade, where she spent summers for over 50 years.

Survivors include two sisters Afton Monroe and Colleen Roppel; two sons, Terry Lee Seitz and Donald Seitz, Jr.; three grandchildren, Tristan Seitz, Kimber Seitz, and Ben Banks. Virginia is also survived by four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister Betty Jo.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Idaho Youth Ranch, 5465 West Irving St., Boise, Idaho 83706.
