William Pike Stockton went home to be with Jesus on February 10, 2017. William was born to Frank and Miriam (Pike) Stockton on April 7, 1925 in Hollywood, California. Dad grew up in Hollywood, California. After graduation from high school, he served as a 2nd Lieutenant in World War II, Army Air Corp, as the lead wing navigator for B-17 and B-29 squadrons serving in England. He was also stationed in Colorado and Louisiana for training and preparation for different deployments. Dad was always very proud to have served his country in this capacity. After WWII, he married Carol Jean Clark and then went on to receive his Master of Divinity from Fuller Seminary in 1954. William and Carol served as pastors in Kansas, Washington, California, and McCall, Idaho. He also built houses in Nampa, and Cascade Idaho. He returned to Southern California in 1972 and remained there until 2014 when he moved to Nampa, Idaho to be close to his children.

William is survived by five daughters, one son, and four sons-in-law; Janine (Stockton) and Ernie Lowry of Nampa, Miriam (Stockton) and Bill Bryant of Meridian, Joyce (Stockton) and Jerry Troyer of Nampa, Marilou Stockton of Boise, Bill Stockton, Jr. of Forest Grove, Oregon, Elizabeth (Stockton) and Scott Earnest of Nampa;  Grandchildren - Amy Farnworth, Katy Chadd, Daniel Lowry, Peter Troyer, Rebecca Richardson, Kelsie Petersen, David Bryant, Sage and Ellie Earnest; Great-Grandchildren - Banna Farnworth, Lowen and Mason Chadd, Tryston and Colton Bryant, Malakai and Taylee Richardson; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Frances (Stockton) Napolitano, and Grace (Stockton) and Dave Carlson, all of So. California. William’s home-going is preceded by his grandson, Tabor Earnest.

There will be a short service at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise, Thursday, February 23rd at 2:00 p.m. followed by fellowship and food, 5:30-7:30, at the Lowry home, 4421 Lake Ridge Rd., Nampa.                 Many thanks to the residents of Golden Glow Tower, staff at Nampa Care Center and Sunnyridge Retirement, and Harrison’s Hope Hospice, for your friendship, kindness, and care given to our dad and to us during these last months. You have walked this journey with us, taught us much along the way, and made the travel a little easier.
